Budget gyms over the last couple of years have been on the up rise; Gyms such as lifestyle fitness have created fitness facilities with little expense and have been located in many city centres for great accessibility to all.

DCL offer a full gym membership of £36 per month with a minimum three month contract. Lifestyle gym undercut this cost of half the price offering a full membership of £15.99 per month with no contract agreement. With the current economic status/recession majority of future customers are seeking low cast gyms with no long term commitments.
DCL as an employee advise all customer that “exercise should not be seen as a quick fix', to lead a healthy active lifestyle it must be maintainable. To achieve this, mix up your training, learn from others, make it fun and enjoy it!”
There are many advantages and disadvantages to private and public sector gyms; both lifestyle and DCL are recognised as private gyms. The main difference between the two is that DCL are accredited by QUEST and hold a higher recognition within the fitness industry. All instructors from DCL are REPS registered where as fitness staff in lifestyle are budget gyms with the main aim of purely sales and not the service they provide.
lauren this section is really good! i now have a good insight into what DCL leisure offers. why is it that lifestyle can make their prices so cheap? do you think they are a competition to DCL leisure or do you think you get what you pay for? xxx
ReplyDeleteDCL are supported by government bodies such as ASA,FIA,Sport England and many more, this gives the leisure facilities a high recognition within the sports industry, the reason budget gyms can offer more affordable prices is purely for the fact they don’t deliver the service of quality of DCL, Fitness First and private health care centres.
DeleteThey have become a great competitive within the market and only time will tell what the outcome will be.
As you are saying that DCL is supported by the government bodies. Is DCL specified as being a private run buisness or council run ? You say that they are recognised as private gyms but how is this possible if you are supported by ASA, FIA and more governemnt organisations.
